The most expensive piece of land listed for sale on Lands of America recently was $4 million, while the median price for land, ranches and rural property in Iowa came in at $392,330. The average price of land advertised for sale in Iowa was $480,160. There was 5,099 acres of sold land in Iowa recorded in March 2018 through the Lands of America sales program. This reflects a 24 percent increase in sales activity over the previous month. The total value of this sold land and rural real estate was $33.1 million. With its dizzying elevation extreme of a mere 1, 190 feet, pancake-flat Iowa's main outdoor attractions are of the horizontal persuasion.
