The average price of land advertised for sale in Iowa was $492,592. With its dizzying elevation extreme of a mere 1,190 feet, pancake-flat Iowa's main outdoor attractions are of the horizontal persuasion. Two national scenic byways thread the state, while any number of country roads will take you through a land of farms, covered bridges and quiet towns.
